HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to all three of them. Their growth and development is inspiring. Keep up the great work guys!

Oregon Open Info Online IMPACT Jiu Jitsu hosts the premier Gi Tournament in Oregon. In order to get bigger participation numbers of athletes and gyms, we have moved the event back to Saturday, October 11, at Liberty High School in Hillsboro. As a result, we are expecting well over 250 competitors from throughout the Pacific Northwest. If you have already registered, don’t worry. You are already set. If you haven’t … you have time to train up and get ready for the best tournament in the Northwest. You don’t want to miss it! Go to http://www.subleague.com/oregonopen.html for full details. You find: Rules |

If you a planning on competing in the Oregon Open Tournament (or just want to turn up the intensity dial in your training) there are two things you can do that bring out your tournament “A Game”:
| 1. Saturdays at 12:00pm, Coach Debruge, Oberhue, and Chapman will facilitate “tournament matches”! We will measure out the ring size, have the timers going, and be calling points. There is no substitute for the real-thing. Get your tournament technique, tactics, and strategies razor sharp with lots of goes. We had over 15 guys participate last weekend … and expect more next weekend. You don’t want to miss this GREAT training opportunity. We will continue with Saturday practices through the tournament …. so keep coming in and getting “tournament tough!” |

2. Coach Debruge is running a special Oregon Open Prep program for individuals and small groups that want to get some personal attention. Contact him directly via email HERE or call 503.350.3926 to make an appointment with him. He will do a diagnostic of your game and help you make a specialized game plan based on your strengths and attributes. This is a great way to really dial in your plan the month before the biggest tournament in the Northwest! ! ! |

6. Seminar Report: Marcelo Garcia
Last weekend a crew of IMPACT guys journeyed up to Olympia, Washing, to train with one of the greats in our sport — Marcelo Garcia. It was a fantastic opportunity … and we were not disappointed.
Aside from being a great competitor and coach, he is a “good guy” … extreme down-to-earth and sincere. His love for Jiu Jitsu is very evident. Saturday focused on No-Gi techniques. Sunday on the Gi game. Marcelo modeled incredible efficiency and skill as he worked us through is lessons.
Huge thanks go Robert Owens of Shockwave / BJJ Olympia for hosting the event and Marcelo for presenting such great information in such a straight forward, easy to understand manner.
It was great hanging out with the grappling community of Oregon and Washington as well — it was a GREAT weekend!
