1. What Makes Coaching University Such a Powerful Program

Many athletes have come up and asked, “What is Coaching University all about?”
That is a terrific question.
Coaching University (CU) is one of IMPACT Jiu Jitsu’s premier programs because it goes much deeper into the content material (BJJ, MMA, and Strength and Conditioning) than normal class. Far deeper. On top of that, a substantial amount of time is dedicated to understanding the art and science of coaching and communication effectively.
Participants in CU benefit on a number of levels. Firstly, the overall performance and “game” of CU students usually improves significantly. Why? Because they are know training and thinking about the game on a higher level — they must not only be able to demonstrate technique effective to others, but the must be able to explain it in a logical, complete, easy-to-understand manner. This increased focus and attention almost always results in a noticeable jump in an athlete’s performance.
Secondly, we develop skills and strategies necessary to be an effective coach - communication skills, lesson planning, problems solving, counseling students through road blocks and plateaus, etc. This work helps create our future generations of world-class coaching. The curriculum used in CU is comprehensive, organized, and used by elite sports associations throughout the country.
If you ever thought about being a coach … or have interest in taking your training in a different direction, you might want to consider looking at the Coaching University. You’ll never be the same!
