1. Roseland Report: Henning Makes His Presence Known

	Ben Henning had his first amateur fight at the Rumble at the Roseland last Saturday night. He has been focused and training hard for the last four months - on top of his regularly training and coaching schedule. Ben went out and simply took care of business. It was absolutely fantastic to watch! Unfortunately, the other two fights for IMPACT didn’t get to go - Lee’s opponent was a no show - and Derrick had some nagging injuries that side-lined him. 2. New IMPACT Jiu Jitsu Location: West Linn

GREAT NEWS: Beginning on Monday, October 1, IMPACT Jiu Jitsu will be running classes at Premier Martial Arts in West Linn, Oregon!

This is a fantastic opportunity to “grow our room” in the Portland area and creating a bigger pool of grapplers. Premier Martial Arts is excited to be offering IMPACT’s Jiu Jitsu program at their facility and we are pumped to be able to spread into the West Linn / Lake Oswego area. IMPACT members from Beaverton and Newberg will be welcome to train at the West Linn club … as a matter of fact, it is encouraged … we want to help our newest members grow their Jiu Jitsu skills.

The initial schedule will be:

Mondays and Wednesdays
6:15 pm BJJ 1
7:15 pm No-gi Submission Grappling

Classes are an hour long. We will expand our hours / class selection as the numbers grow.

3. Nutrition for Athletes Kicks Off Session

Nutrition for Athletes (NFA) had a three hour educational seminar Saturday morning. It was the kick-off of our 12 week program. Athletes are working on either gaining lean muscle mass or reducing their body fat. Tons of information about metabolism, macro nutrients, and how to design a nutrition plan was presented. It is going to be fun watching this group achieve their fitness and nutrition goals.

Stay tuned to see how they progress.

On a related topic, HUGE congratulations to Franklin Dunwoody who has lost over 26 pounds his first four months of training at IMPACT Jiu Jitsu. Franklin is not only a regular at the morning Combative Conditioning classes, but his has been attending 3 - 4 BJJ classes a week and taking private training lessons with Coach Armand. WAY TO GO FRANKLIN! ! !

5. BJJ 101 Begins Fall Quarter at PSU

Fall quarter at PSU began this week … and with, so did BJJ 101 and 102 taught by Coach Tom, Coach Amador, and Coach Eric Loar of IMPACT Jiu Jitsu. Class are Mondays and Wednesday from 2:00 - 2:50 pm. All IMPACT members are welcome to drop in and participate / help out. As you can see, we have a FULL class of eager folks wanting to experience the joy of Jiu Jitsu.

Here are the details of the IMPACT Jiu Jitsu classes at Portland State University:
