1. Tough Night for IMPACT Athletes at the Roseland
Last Saturday two IMPACT athletes, Adam Gonzales and Daniel Krug, fought at the Rumble at the Roseland. There were lots of IMPACT fans and friends in the crowd — as seen be the blue shirts and the loud cheers. As is the nature of our sport, someone must win and someone must lose. It was a tough night for IMPACT athletes, with both guys coming away without the victory.
Adam Gonzales fought in the second fight of the evening. The match started off well with lots of movement, striking, and countering. Adam did a good job of defending a take-down and getting up from bottom. Unfortunately, at the three minute round, he ran out of gas. It was a valuable less of the importance of cardio conditioning in an MMA match. I’m sure we will be seeing A LOT of Adam in the Combative Conditioning classes in the future.
Daniel Krug’s highly anticipated fight with Josh Bennett was the fourteenth fight of the night. It was a battle. Daniel completely dominated Josh (who had 23 previous fights compared to Daniels’ 1) throughout the first five minutes. Daniel started with a beautiful kick, took Josh down, controlled him on the ground, got to his back a couple of times, and almost had a couple of very close submissions. To Josh’s credit, he managed to survive Daniels constant attacks and stay in the game. Unfortunately, Daniel severely broke his hand while striking Josh in the first round. As the second round began, it was clear that something wasn’t quite right with Daniel, he was clearly in discomfort. Not being able to strike due to his broken hand and dealing with the pain, Daniel took a more defensive approach, which allowed Josh to start throwing his hands. Josh caught Daniel with a heavy cross to the head and the fight was over. Absolutely no shame on Daniel’s part … it was a courageous effort. We hope your hand heals up well and quickly!

3. Combative Conditioning DVD - A Perfect Fitness Gift for Family and Friends
Sales for Combative Conditioning sales are really taking off as the word gets out about the quality and depth of this fitness conditioning series. It is the perfect fitness gift for family and friends this holiday season. Order it NOW in order to get it in time for the Holidays!
CC is a two DVD, one CD training program designed specifically for the needs of the combative athlete, or those who simply want the fitness of the competitive MMA/BJJ practitioner. Over a year in the making, this unique program addresses the four phases of combative conditioning (Stability, Strength, Power Endurance, and Fight Specific Training), and provides a progressive program tailored to the needs of the individual athlete. Unlike other conditioning instructional which have the user simply follow a specific routine on-screen, the Combative Conditioning system empowers the athlete to become their own fitness “coach”, and develop routines targeting their specific needs as they develop.
The two in-depth instructional DVD’s provide the conditioning framework so the athlete understands the objectives, the exercises, and the progressions needed for a specific phase. The supplemental Data Disk CD supplies a variety of materials including several workouts by phase and fitness level, as well as a training log, a movement library, coaching points, and other resources. Together, they form the foundation of a constantly evolving conditioning program for everyone from the beginning athlete up to world class competitors.
Here is what the fitness coaches have to say about CC:
Oberhue
“We’ve been having great success in our gyms with our conditioning classes. For our new students it gives them the physical tools they need to learn the BJJ curriculum. For our grapplers, we’ve seen injury rates go down, and for our competitive fighters, it delivers the fight specific conditioning needed to succeed in the ring.”
Nielsen
“The conditioning needs of the MMA/BJJ community are probably the most demanding of any sport, given the emphasis on overall strength, power and the necessity of combative mobility in so many different planes of movement. Putting up big numbers on the bench or squats or running a 10k quickly won’t give you what you need on the mat. This system does”.
Lelack
“This is the most complete and effective conditioning system I’ve seen in my fifteen years in this business. I make my living training athletes, and getting them to the next level, and know what works and doesn’t. If you’re serious about results, this is the way to go. You’ll be challenged like never before.”
Combative Conditioning – Foundation is available for $59. The feedback has been tremendous on the effectiveness of this program, and Impact Jiu-Jitsu wants to make it available to a large segment of the MMA/BJJ community through this introductory offering.
