1. Coach Chris Haueter - Coming in October

We are VERY pleased to announce that one of our original Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coaches, Chris Haueter, will be up here in Oregon for four days in October. Chris has had a profound influence on our growth and development beginning back in 1996. Haueter is one of the first generation of Americans to receive their black belt in BJJ from the Machado brothers. Chris has worked closely with most of the gym’s coaches, in particular with: Oberhue, Chapman, Hemphill, and Wassom. It will be a real treat having him here.

Coach Chris will be in Beaverton from Thursday, October 12 - Sunday, October 15. He’ll be running a special BJJ class Thursday night at Beaverton. On Sunday, he will teach a seminar at the new Newberg Gym from 10am - 1pm. Â

Chris will be running the BJJ classes on Thursday, October 12. He is available for private and semi-private lessons throughout his stay … and they are well worth it. Chris is a fantastic coach one-on-one / in small groups. He tailors his instruction to what you need. It is well worth it.

On Sunday, October 15, Chris will be running a public seminar the new Newberg Gym from 10am - 1pm. It should be a great time … and we are all excited to see what new training methods Chris will introduce us to. You don’t want to miss it. To sign up, see Office Manager Sarah, Tom, or Michael.

2. News on Newberg Gym

Paint is going up, new mats are going down, and the place is really starting to shape up. The Newberg Gym will official open its doors at its new location (716 1^st Street (Hwy 99), Newberg) on Monday, October 2.

We will have a HUGE GRAND OPENING CELEBRATION on Saturday, October 7. The day’s events will go as follows:

    10 - 11:30 am Free BJJ Seminar: Coaches Tom and Dewey
    12 - 1:30 pm Free MMA Seminar: Coaches Michael and Matt
    1:30 - 5 pm BBQ / Celebration / Raffle / Open Gym

All Beaverton gym members, friends, and family are cordially invited to come on down and partake in the fun happens.

The Beaverton gym will be open that day and running class … but most folks will be heading down to Newberg for the day.

5. MMA 2: Focus and Times

What is it?
MMA 2 is a skills / drill class for mixed martial arts. It is meant for athletes that have been training in MMA 1 for 3 - 6 months. In particular, graduates of the recent ATP in MMA will find MMA 2 a terrific place to drill isolated parts of their game and get those precious training minutes necessary to grow their game.

When is it?
MMA 2 will be on Tuesdays from 7 - 8pm and Thursday from 8 - 9pm. There will be no Wednesday class.

6. Seminar: Pedro Sauer at IMPACT, Oct. 8

5 spots have been reserved … only 10 remain. Act now … they are going fast, and once they are gone, they are gone. This is a GREAT opportunity to train with one of the most knowledgeable BJJ coaches around. Pedro is a super instructor and a great communicator. I’m positive that you won’t be disappointed.

A special training opportunity is presenting itself at IMPACT Jiu-Jitsu. Pedro Sauer, a 6th degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu will be doing a private training session on Sunday, October 8, from 10am - 2pm.
