1. Wassom and Kettlehut earn brown belts
Jeff Wassom and Chris Kettlehut received their LONG OVERDUE brown belts last night from Michael Chapman and Tom Oberhue. Both Jeff and Chris have terrific games and are fantastic coaches.

Event 1 is in the books: 150+ competitors. 200 spectators. LOTS of great competition. Come see how you match up the Northwest’s best grapplers. Only two more events to qualify for the Championship Tournament in June.

    Rules: 9:45 am

3. SBG Spring Camp
Dates: March 24 - 26
Location: Portland Gym
Friday: 6 - 9pm
Saturday and Sunday: 10 am - 5 pm
SBGi’s Matt Thornton will be covering his guard surfing with drills as well as Clinch Surfing as a warm up session at the Camp.This will be followed by instructional pieces featuring Luis Guiterrez from Florida, who will be working his clinch with cloth material for the first time ever at Camp!
 To these Camp regulars will be sessions featuring some of SBGi’s best kept secrets with Eric Hemphill, one of the best BJJ players, and and a great instructors. Also, Eric Jetton, a HUGE resource when it comes to take-downs, and the technical points of wrestling body control, will present his perspective on the grappling game.
For special pre-registration rates see Office Manager Ben, Tom, or Michael. This will be a great opportunity to train the latest techniques with a broad group of folks from all over the world. You won’t want to miss it! ! !4. Gym Closed this Weekend
The Beaverton Gym will be closed Saturday and Sunday. Classes will resume on Monday, March 27.
Looking for a new challenge? MMA Cross-Training, Friday nights at 6pm is certainly that!
This classes is run by Coach Eric Hemphill. It’s focus is on intense bag-work, combat conditioning, and sparring.
If you are serious about your conditioning and want to get “fight-ready”, you WANT to make this class! ! !
