Training Philosophy
Impact Jiu Jitsu's curriculum is designed to create effective, functional, and comprehensive fighters, both for street and sport. We break our curriculum down three ways:
1.) Type of training:
1.) Jiu-Jitsu (submission wrestling)
2.) Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), No-Holds-Barred (NHB) /
Vale Tudo
3.) Fitness Conditioning
2.) Ranges:
1.) Stand-Up
2.) Clinch
3.) Ground
3.) Conceptually:
1.) Aliveness
2.) Functionality
3.) Adaptability
4.) Athleticism
5.) Attitude
We train and teach with a systematic and athletic perspective:
- Information and techniques are presented in a logical progression
- Drilling is done with an emphasis on "Aliveness"
- Competency and progress is gauged by one simple standard - successful execution of a technique against an uncooperative opponent.
- Our top priority is coaching you as an athlete to reach your short-term and long-term goals.
At Impact Jiu Jitsu we are not concerned with what was, rather what works. You'll find our curriculum is practical. We don't waste time on ineffective techniques or out-dated training methods.
What makes our training environment world class is our quality coaching staff, our proven training methods, our conceptual foundation, and the friendly and supportive training atmosphere you'll find in our gym. We are a refreshing approach to self-defense, fight training, and fitness conditioning.
